Terms of Service

These Terms of Service govern access to and use of the BookSell website, seller tools, ebook catalog, and related services. By using the service, you agree to comply with these terms.

1. Accounts

  • You must provide accurate account information and keep your login credentials secure.
  • You are responsible for activity that occurs through your account.
  • We may suspend or restrict access when accounts are used in violation of these terms.

2. Marketplace roles

  • Readers may browse, rent, and purchase eligible ebooks.
  • Sellers may upload ebooks they have the right to distribute.
  • BookSell may review, approve, reject, or remove listings to protect the marketplace.

3. Seller content

  • Sellers must own or control the rights necessary to publish uploaded content.
  • Infringing, unlawful, deceptive, or harmful content is prohibited.
  • Sellers remain responsible for the accuracy, legality, and quality of their listings.

4. Purchases and access

  • BookSell may offer time-limited rentals and permanent purchases.
  • Rental access expires automatically at the end of the applicable rental period.
  • Purchased access may be limited or revoked when required by law, fraud prevention, or policy enforcement.

5. Pricing, fees, and payouts

  • Sellers choose listing prices unless otherwise specified by marketplace policy.
  • Platform fees, payment processing fees, and taxes may reduce seller proceeds.
  • Sellers must provide valid payout details before any payout can be issued.

6. Refunds and payment disputes

  • Refunds may be granted when required by law or when a payment or listing issue is confirmed.
  • Fraudulent, abusive, or duplicate transactions may be canceled or reversed.
  • Access granted through a refunded or reversed payment may be removed.

7. Prohibited conduct

  • Do not copy, redistribute, scrape, reverse engineer, or misuse protected ebook files.
  • Do not interfere with payments, account security, or marketplace operations.
  • Do not use the service to violate intellectual property, privacy, or applicable law.

8. Availability and changes

  • We may change, pause, or discontinue parts of the service at any time.
  • We may update these terms by posting a revised version on the site.
  • Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

9. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

  • The service is provided on an as-is and as-available basis.
  • BookSell is not responsible for seller-authored content except as required by law.
  • To the maximum extent permitted by law, BookSell is not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from use of the service.
